Role: Head of Financial Accounting Location: West Yorkshire (Hybrid) Contract: Full Time Temporary Fixed Term (3 months Ongoing) Rate: £600-£750 per day LTD Start Date: ASAP Contact: tim.breaker@servicecare.org.uk or 01772 208 969Job DescriptionService Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in West Yorkshire (Hybrid) for a Head of Financial Accounting reporting to the Director of Finance.

A key part of the role is to direct manage the small team (3 staff) that manage the cash and banking clearing processes across the Council.Full job specification availableKey Responsibilities:

Preparation and closure of statutory accounts for both the Council and overview of the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.
Provide a range of corporate activities supporting the business functions of the Council such as maintaining/ reconciling corporate control accounts, banking arrangements and completing Government statutory returns
Provide timely and accurate information, advice and guidance to elected Members, senior management and service managers.
To support the Director of Finance in meeting the Council's corporate arrangements for governance and performance management.
Provide highly specialised advice on the Council's Capital Investment Plan and related activity to the Treasury Management and Exchequer function.
Provide a range of corporate activities supporting the business functions of the Council such as VAT advice, asset register maintenance and Council Tax and Business Rates collection fund accounting.

Ideal Candidate:

Extensive experience of working in a similar senior role ideally within a Local Authority
Registered on the Finance Conduct Authority
Abie to work flexibly to support the needs of the Council.
