Play & Youth Services Manager
Play & Youth Services Manager
Salary: £31,232 to £33,000 pro rata.
Hours: 23 to 35 hours a week, negotiable.
Starting from: 1st April 2022
Are you an experienced play leader interested in strategic development?
About us:
Markfield was established in 1979 by parents of disabled children, whose vision was to create an inclusive place for disabled and non-disabled children to play.
Markfield became a charity and limited company in 1983.
A Victorian pump house in Tottenham was refurbished to create a unique community centre, opened by Diana Princess of Wales in 1986.
The Role:
This is an opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team at a dynamic and well-regarded Tottenham-based charity.
Markfield is an inclusive community hub where people can play, socialize and get information and support.
We run services for disabled children, siblings and their families.
We are seeking a highly motivated and well-organised person to manage the team running the programme of term-time and holiday play and leisure services for disabled children and young people, based at our community centre - a Grade II listed building with a huge adventure playground in Markfield Park.
Our services enable disabled, deaf and autistic children to have fun, take risks, and play an active role in their community alongside their peers.
You will be responsible for the strategic management of the children & youth programme, including developing new strategies to make these services financially viable long-term, in the context of declining funding from local authority sources.
This is a challenging and varied role: you will need experience working with disabled children/young people in play or youth work, as well as experience of managing staff and budgets, and ideally you will have a Level 3 or higher qualification in play/ childcare/ youth work or a related field.
In return:
We offer 25 days a year pro rata, rising to 30 days pro rata after three years' service as well as a 5% contributory pension scheme.
