Having nurtured a strong network of local, national, and global growers - as well as artificial plant manufacturers, we provide clients with the finest domestic and exotic plants for offices, retail, hospitality and public sector spaces.Reporting to and working closely with the General Manager, the Operations Manager will manage the Operations team and associated infrastructure, including greenhouse facility and vehicles, to ensure the timely delivery of products and services to customers from preparation and production through to installation and maintenance.

The successful candidate will draw upon their previous experience of supervising a team within the trades, horticultural, facilities management or other closely allied industry, to provide the support, training and mentoring required to consistently attain the high standards of service and product quality for which Benholm has become renowned.

Applications are particularly encouraged from individuals with proven experience of successfully managing an in house, employed team rather than a group of self-employed sub-contractors.Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and support the Operations team from on-boarding of new or temporary staff through to managing work schedules and rosters through to goal setting and performance management processes for the team.
Responsible for effective planning and utilisation of team resources to ensure products and services are delivered to customers on time and at the superior quality standards.
Communicate with all relevant staff to ensure delivery times and quality standards are prioritised and met or exceeded.
Select, plan and deploy appropriate expertise to ensure excellent customer service levels are maintained with efficient and effective use of the team.
Recommend and implement improvements to team and/or work processes as necessary to ensure work continues to be completed on time and at required quality standards.
Work with the Head of Production to ensure appropriate planning and assistance is provided to keep preparation and production of planters on time for planned delivery schedules.
Oversee the maintenance of orderly work premises including the replenishment of materials and inventory to ensure no disruption to team activities.

Key Skills & Experience

Three years of proven success within an operations management role leading a team in a similar environment.
A familiarity with and understanding of the importance of customer retention, customer feedback scores & referrals, team engagement & maintaining high retention levels.
Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while engaging and motivating the team to deliver excellent customer service.
Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to manage time and workload efficiently and to deliver against tight timelines.
Own transport and licence required as work premises are not near any public transport.
