Machining Engineering Apprentice

The apprenticeship is ideally suited to someone who wishes to work in a practical engineering role whilst gaining the necessary qualifications for a career in engineering.

Key Responsibilities: 

In-house training by skilled engineers in conventional and CNC machining techniques Loading, proving and programming CNC machines Perform work instructions to maximise efficiency and to fulfil the requirements set by supervisors and management. Complete an extended period of study to gain Advanced Apprentice standard qualifications in Machining Adhere to internal quality procedures and maintain the standards necessary to satisfy the company quality standards

Essential Experience: 

High level of interest in gaining practical machining engineering knowledge Demonstrated skills in record keeping Effective oral and written communication

Personal Attributes: 

Interest in working to a high level of accuracy within low tolerances High level of interest in gaining practical machining knowledge Commitment to undertake extended period of study

Training:

You will work towards the Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

Year One through Year 3 - Day release at Appris, Bradford: EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Machining.

Year One through Year Four, Workplace Training and Mentoring towards achieving the Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours (KSBs).

Internal training, development and mentoring with highly skilled engineers in a variety of machining (CNC) areas and other engineering-related duties and requirements.

In your 4th Year, you will continue to work towards your occupational competency in engineering and prepare for independent end-point assessments.

Successful apprentices can look forward to further learning and development, which can lead to internal promotion and increased pay.

The company specialises in medium to heavy engineering, manufacturing a diverse range of components from drawings and samples.  In addition to machining, our services include reverse engineering, welding and fabrication and the refurbishment and repair of full assemblies.  The company has built a reputation for high quality workmanship and customer commitment.  



Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (3:30pm on Friday).
