Machine Technician Apprentice
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
Use precision measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques
Support machine setup, tooling changes and production operations
Develop CNC programming knowledge and machining strategies
Understand manufacturing processes and continuous improvement techniques
Work safely and professionally within a modern engineering environment
Collaborate with experienced engineers and programmers to build technical capability and industry knowledge
Support production activities to meet quality and delivery targets
Carry out routine machine maintenance and inspections
Use measuring equipment to inspect components and ensure accuracy
Follow health, safety and environmental procedures at all times
Maintain a clean and organised work area
Work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to develop engineering knowledge and skills
Participate in off-the-job training and complete apprenticeship coursework
Training:
Your first year will be spent at Seta in Washington.
Your second year will be spent 4 days in the workplace with DLI Engineering and 1 day with Seta on day release.
Your final 2 years will be spent full time with the employer, with regular reviews with a Seta apprenticeship manager and your employer.
Training Outcome:
Successful apprentices may have the opportunity to progress into a full-time engineering role within DLI Engineering Limited, with further opportunities for advanced technical training and career progression within the engineering sector.

DLI Engineering Limited comprises of DLI Precision Engineering Limited, Davro Precision Engineering (Washington) and Hilton Precision — companies formed over 40 years ago to support North East based international manufacturing companies including Philips, Rolls-Royce, Domnick Hunter and Caterpillar.
The company operates across a range of major industry sectors including Oil & Gas, Filtration, Specialist Automotive, Defence and general commercial engineering. DLI Engineering is also involved in significant research and development initiatives, often working in partnership with universities to support engineering innovation and advanced manufacturing solutions.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday - 8am - 4pm Friday - 8am - 12:30pm Please note that these hours are during your first year with Seta. They may change once you move into the workplace.
