Project Engineer - Aerospace

Role: Project Engineer - Aerospace / Continuous Improvement Engineer / Manufacturing
Location: Nottingham (some travel to company sites)

Purpose of the role:
Leading and accelerating advanced product quality planning across the business.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Single point of contact for APQP activities on specific of work activities.
Reporting to the lead Engineer you will be responsible for implementation of lean methodology and driving sustainment across the business.
Overseeing cost efficiency programmes, delivering cost reduction in Manufacturing operating costs and Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal and cost reduction.
Continuously improving processes on the production with multiple functions such as planning, operations, engineering, and quality.
Accountable for defining the method of manufacture from initial concept through validation and ongoing production ensuring these targets are met.

ensuring tooling requirements and technical instructions and design intent is met and maintained.


Communicate specific requirements to Project and Engineering Teams
Support engineering activities within manufacturing focusing on methods and productivity improvement opportunities, identifying, and resolving problems.


Any other duties as may be reasonably required within the jobholder’s capability consistent with their knowledge, skills, and experience.



Qualifications / Skills:
Degree level or equivalent Minimum HND qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
Process mapping and identifying areas for improvement.
Planning and facilitating workshops, improving business process and building team members capability
Practical experience of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
Practical experience in use of problem-solving tools such as 8D reporting, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodology.
Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
Kaizen methodology, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt would be advantageous.
Change Management
Lean Manufacturing
Face to face customer visits may be required.

Ability to travel to client site as necessary.

Package
Salary up to £45,000 dependent upon experience
