Adult Care Worker Apprentice (Moorlands Care Home)

As an Adult Care Worker apprentice, you will work as part of the care team at Moorlands while gaining hands‑on experience and completing your Level 2 Apprenticeship. You will develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to provide high‑quality, person‑centred care, working alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Supporting the daily routine of the care home to ensure a safe, welcoming, and caring environment Assisting residents with all aspects of personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect Supporting residents to participate in individual and group activities that promote wellbeing and independence Assisting residents with mobility needs, including moving and positioning, following manual handling guidance Supporting residents during mealtimes, including serving meals and assisting individuals to eat and drink where required Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness within communal areas and resident rooms Ensuring good levels of hygiene and infection control are maintained at all times Recording relevant information accurately in care plans and daily records Communicating effectively with residents, colleagues, and other professionals Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection and safeguarding requirements

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will receive training and support to help you develop your skills and progress within the adult care sector.

Respecting the patients' privacy and rules of confidentiality Establishing a relationship with each patient and members of patients' families Answering the telephone and greeting guests on behalf of the patient Responding to medical and other emergencies immediately

Training:

You will be completing the Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard with Darlington Borough Council Learning & Skills, Darlington.

This apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to begin a successful career in adult health and social care. The programme is delivered through a blended approach, combining on‑line, flexible learning with expert‑led classroom sessions and workplace‑based training covering core care topics.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be supported by experienced tutors who have worked within the health and social care sector and bring many years of practical experience. They will support you to develop the confidence, competence, and professional standards required to work effectively in a range of adult care settings.



Training Outcome:

Possible employment and progression on to further training upon completion of apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Varying rota which will include weekends and bank holidays. Days and shifts to be confirmed.
