Electrical Engineering Apprentice
Electrical and Electronic:
• Creating hardware specifications
• Producing theory of operation documents
• Preparing wiring diagrams
• Creating bills of materials
• Developing PLC-based firmware
• Developing PCB-based firmware
Build and Test:
• Assembling prototypes, including wiring and
soldering
• Testing components and finished products
against defined parameters
General Engineering Support:
• Assisting with electrical/ electronic design and
development activities
• Supporting software design and development
activities
• Helping to obtain and maintain the product
approvals and technical documentation
• Building technical knowledge of products,
components, and applications
• Becoming competent in the use of appropriate
engineering tools
Training:
Engineering technician (level 3).
The first year is full-time at the college. Day release for the remainder of the apprenticeship.
Training Outcome:
This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical and professional skills within a supportive engineering environment. On successful completion, there may be opportunities to progress into a permanent engineering role.

Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday 8.30 am - 5.00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, Friday 8.30 am to 2.00 pm, no lunch.
