Engineering Apprentice
Gain skills in the use of appropriate measuring equipment and be able to interpret and accurately measure
Gain knowledge and skill in the setup, guarding and use of appropriate machinery required to undertake manufacture
Work towards the ability to interpret engineering technical drawings
Developing the skills to construct or modify equipment from verbal instructions and drawings to a high degree of precision
To be able to demonstrate the skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increase overall contribution to the business
Maintain thorough records and documentation of a training/education/skills progress
Training:
The 4-year technical apprenticeship will result in a L3 EAL Certificate as an Engineering Fitter.
Training will be completed as a day release during the first year so you will come to EDM 1-day a week. From year 2, you will work at EDM for 3-days with 1-day a week at college.
The training will be undertaken by Rochdale Training College based on Fishwick Street in Rochdale.
Training Outcome:
Following apprenticeship, EDM aim to offer a permanent position with a development plan to a standard Fitter within 12-months. This will also come with regular pay increments subject to performance reviews.

Working Hours :
Year 1 = Monday to Friday (4 days college, 1-day EDM) College = 8:30am to 4pm EDM = 6:45am to 4:15pm Year 2 - 4 = Monday to Thursday (3 days EDM, 1-day college) EDM = 6:45am to 4:15pm College = 8:30am to 4pm
