Materials Controller/Supply Chain Warehouse operative apprentice

All aspects of Purchasing in accordance with QP5, including:

Liaising with all other departments in order to determine the requirements of the business from external suppliers. Putting together and issuing RFQ’s (request for quote). Selecting suitable suppliers (from the Approved Suppliers list together with our Quality Department). Monitoring the performance of suppliers (Vendor Rating System), including issuing a formal monthly report to MSM management. Hold regular review meetings with our main suppliers. Negotiating the best prices, deliveries and terms from approved suppliers. Expediting deliveries and taking appropriate action where necessary in order to ensure that there is no adverse effect on the performance of our business. Arranging collections where necessary.

All aspects of Stock control in accordance with QP4, including:

Taking receipt of deliveries and checking to verify the correctness of material /parts against the order/drawings/material specification. Booking in stock, ensuring all certification is correct and allocating batch numbers, ensuring that stock quantities are correct at all times. Issuing of raw material, detailed parts, sub-contract parts and other stocked items. Storing material and parts in a manner to ensure their integrity and maintaining an efficient store area.

All aspects of despatching completed work in accordance with QI25, including:

Packaging of components Arranging courier collections Organising all of the necessary documentation

Training:

Training for the apprenticeship will be carried out in the workplace. You will be allocated a work-based tutor from Hopwood Hall College who will carry out visits in the workplace and support you through your apprenticeship.



Training Outcome:

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there is potential to progress within the company.

Working Hours :
Normal working hours are 37 each week. These hours can be worked flexibly between the hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm.
