Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprentice

The apprentice will work within the Engineering Department supporting the maintenance and repair of factory machinery and production equipment to ensure the safe and efficient running of the site.

Duties will include:

Assisting engineers with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Supporting breakdown repairs and fault finding on production machinery Using hand tools, power tools and engineering equipment safely Leaming mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation maintenance skills Completing maintenance records and engineering documentation Supporting installation, testing and adjustment of equipment Carrying out inspections, lubrication and basic component replacement Following health & safety procedures including isolation and permit systems Maintaining high housekeeping and workshop standards Working alongside production teams and communicating equipment issues effectively

The apprentice will attend college on a day-release basis to complete the Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship programme.

This role offers long-term career progression into a qualified multi-skilled engineering technician position.



Training:
College delivery for the standard and qualification (CCN & apprentice) Apprentice Development Plan (CCN & apprentice) Workplace Reviews at least every 12 weeks (employer, CCN & apprentice) Workplace visits to build evidence/ portfolio (employer, CCN & apprentice) Off-the-Job Training (employer, CCN & apprentice)- 744 hours minimum, over the course of the apprenticeship On-the-Job Training Plan (employer & apprentice) The release pattern for this course is once a week (term- time only) at the Ipswich Road Campus Additional sessions (including examinations) may be run in holiday periods, if needed, and by prior agreement with the apprentice and employer

Training Outcome:

A position may be available for the right candidate following successful completion of the apprenticeship. The business is looking for somebody who wants to develop and gain a position following their apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30. 1 day at College (Under 18). Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00. 1 day at College (Over 18).
