Site Reliability Engineer
Monarch IT are recruiting for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our government client on a 12 month contract - Paying up to £750 per day inside IR35.
Location: London/ Bristol or Manchester (depending on location) - 1/2 days onsite
Within this position working as a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be working on the following areas:
- Ensure the availability, resilience and security of one of our major services
- Help migrate the service to new infrastructure
- Support developers in getting their code into production quickly and safely
- Have and apply a broad knowledge of core web technologies
- Take responsibility for solving complex issues
- Automate tasks, deployments, and tests by creating infrastructure as code, taking responsibility for the quality of code you produce
- Implement resilient, highly available systems
- Help junior SREs to learn through pairing and code reviews
- Share knowledge of tools and techniques with your wider team
Our client is looking for individuals who can demonstrate and prove their experience with the following area's.
- Experienced with UNIX or UNIX-like operating systems and technologies used for web applications
- Have extensive experience of using AWS
- Are experienced with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Kubernetes and ECS
- Experience with one of the following Ruby, Java, Python, Node.js, Go
- Use automated testing to validate solutions
- Web Security understanding or experience
- Understand network protocols, eg HTTPS, TLS etc
- Have familiarity with working practices such as test driven development, continuous integration and continuous delivery
- hold SC clearance
