Engineering Apprenticeship

You will learn basic machining and hand fitting skills, progressing onto basic CNC machining through a series of supervised machining tasks. You will manufacture a number of engineering tools and components.

In your first year, you will work on a variety of machines in the training academy, including:

Centre Lathes Vertical Milling Machines Surface Grinding CNC Lathe CNC 3-Axis & 5-Axis Milling Machines CAD / CAM Training

In addition to the hands-on machining training listed above, you will also receive monthly academic classroom-based training.



Training:

Monthly academic training will take place on site in the Progressive Technology Training Academy, which will be delivered by PDT Training.



Training Outcome:

Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship 3 Years:

After the successful completion of your first year Level 2 qualification, you will have the opportunity to progress to Level 3 for years 2 & 3. You will transfer from the Academy to the main manufacturing facility, where you will continue to develop your skills working in various departments throughout the factory.

 

Technician Engineering Apprenticeship 4 Years:

After your first year at Level 3, you will transfer from the Academy to the main manufacturing facility where you will continue your level 3 for year 2, developing your skills by working in various departments throughout the factory.

After the successful completion of your Level 3 qualification, you will continue to develop your skills and education progressing to Level 4 HNC qualification in years 3 & 4.

Working Hours :
For the first year of the apprenticeship the working hours will be: Monday - Friday, 8am to 4.30pm From the second year of the apprenticeship, as long as the employee is over 18, this will be: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
