Engineering Machining Apprentice

Train to become a skilled machinist, manufacturing complex, precision parts and components from specialist materials using both manual, semi-automatic and CNC machine tools according to the instructed methods Learn to set, operate and adjust / edit equipment settings Use a range of hand tools, power tools and measuring devices in the correct and safe way Be trained in the use of different methods of measuring accuracy and tolerances, using gauges, and micrometres

Training:

Apprentices will undertake a Machining Technician Level Apprenticeship Standard programme.

This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA’s Apprenticeship Centre in Southampton.

You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years. After your initial training at SETA, you will be with your employer, working on developing your skills for your End Point Assessment.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday: 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday: 7.30am - 12.30pm.
