Mechanical Fitter

This role is days based, Mon-Fri with hours between 08:00-16:15.The Mechanical Fitter is required to join a globally leading aroma chemical manufacturer on their site in Leek, Staffordshire.

This exciting role as Mechanical Fitter will be working within the Project and asset care engineering function of a chemical company driven by their goal to become a leading aroma chemical manufacturing plant.Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter;

You will be responsible for the Installation and commissioning of the plant and equipment to current standards, whilst working safely and in compliance with all Health Safety and Environmental procedures and guidelines
The Mechanical Fitter will carry out inspection and testing of all PSSR equipment, non-statutory equipment such as storage tanks, pipe lines, drains and structures as well as monitor the engineering stores and stock levels for projects, reporting any items for re-order
You will oversee the control and supervision of contractors working on projects, as and when required
Liaise with the project team members regarding resource, timescales, installation plans, equipment, spares etc
Lastly, you will provide support to the maintenance team during planned maintenance projects / asset replacement and major plant breakdowns.

To be successful in this position as a Mechanical Fitter, proven post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment as a technician / welder is essential.

You will have a qualification or apprenticeship achievement within a relevant discipline, with a BTEC / ONC/HNC being an advantage.

Experience with inspection and testing of PSSR and non-statutory equipment, is highly desirable, as is experience of contract installations particularly within chemicals manufacturing.Please apply directly for further information regarding this Mechanical Fitter position.
