Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hourly Rate: £13.45 - £16.07 per hour
Shifts: 7.30am-10.30pm + sleep-ins

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Children's Support Workers to join a residential childcare team supporting children and young people with complex needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and experiences of trauma.

The Role
As a Children's Support Worker, you will work closely with young people in a residential setting, helping them to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. You will be responsible for promoting their welfare, supporting their daily routines, and helping them overcome challenges while maintaining a child-centred and trauma-informed approach.
Key Responsibilities
Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential home. Building positive and trusting relationships with children and acting as a positive role model. Supporting young people with education, social activities, hobbies, and life skills development. Promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience, and independence. Implementing care plans, behaviour support strategies, and risk management plans. Maintaining accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding and regulatory requirements. Working collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, schools, families, and external professionals. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times. Participating in a shift rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-in duties.
Essential Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification) – Essential. Previous experience working within a residential children's home setting. Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child-centred practice. Experience supporting children and young people with challenging behaviours and complex emotional needs. Full UK Driving Licence. Ability to work flexibly on a shift rota, including sleep-ins. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
