Learning Support Assistant Apprentice
Under the guidance of the class teacher, you will support pupils in all aspects of their learning and assessing the curriculum.
You will deliver learning activities to small groups and individuals as directed. Following the school's trauma-informed approach, you will promote positive behaviour and attitudes through high expectations You will attend to the personal care needs of pupils. This may include toileting, other hygiene needs, help with dressing and/or assisting with feeding as required All care needs are part of an individual learning programme and should be taught to promote independence You may assist with physiotherapy or speech therapy under the direction of the appropriate specialist You will develop leisure opportunities and supervise pupils at unstructured time to support the development of communication, physical development, social relationships and interaction skills You will support the teacher and contribute to the development and implementation of Personal Learning Plans (PLP) You will support the teacher in assessing and systematically recording pupils’ progress and achievements You will develop and extend learning opportunities based on pupils' prior learning You will efficiently prepare, maintain and use classroom teaching materials and equipment You will set up learning environments, which would include laptops, tablets, switch-operated equipment, displays and other learning spacesTraining:
Support to achieve knowledge, skills and behaviours as laid out in the apprenticeship standard Support from an experienced assessor to assess work and practice Individual learning programme tailored to own needs E-learning, training and monthly tutorials specific to your apprenticeship Mentor and support in the workplace A minimum of 6 hours per week during paid time to be used for learning and development opportunities English and maths Functional Skills at Level 2 (if required) Support to achieve the End Point Assessment At the end of the apprenticeship, you will obtain the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship
Training Outcome:
Completion of the apprenticeship will enable apprentices to gain employment as a level 3 LSA within primary, special and secondary schools in both the state and independent sectors. There will be increasing opportunities for apprentices to take on a wider range of responsibilities. Opportunities also exist to move into other roles across the wider children’s workforce e.g. child care, play work or youth work.

The aim of each Learning Pathway is to enable pupils to make good progress, so that their needs are met and aspirations can be fulfilled.
Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 8.35am to 3.25pm. Tuesday 8.35am to 4.15pm.
