Lead Engineer

Lead Mechanical Engineer – Hammersmith, West London – FM Service Provider – Up to £50,000

CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting a Lead Mechanical Engineer to be based at a large, high-profile healthcare environment in Hammersmith, West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased Lead Engineer to take ownership of all planned and reactive maintenance across a complex and fast-paced site. The successful candidate will lead a team of day and shift engineers while remaining hands-on and actively involved on the tools. Working within a critical environment, the role requires a strong understanding of building services maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage day-to-day engineering operations while maintaining high compliance and service standards. The site offers a varied and technically challenging environment with long-term stability and progression opportunities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of day and shift engineersCarry out and oversee all planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Attend and resolve reactive maintenance tasks across the siteEnsure all mechanical plant operates efficiently and safelyWork on mechanical systems including: Pumps, Motors, AHUs, FCUs, Pipework, HVACsystems, Pressurisation unitsSupport basic electrical and building services maintenance where requiredMonitor subcontractors and specialist service providersEnsure all statutory compliance and health & safety procedures are adhered toManage site logbooks, RAMS, and maintenance documentationSupport the Contract Manager with day-to-day engineering operationsAct as the main point of contact for engineering issues on siteAssist with fault finding and system diagnostics across M&E plantMaintain excellent working relationships with the client and on-site teamsHours

Monday to Friday
08:00am – 17:00pm

Requirements
Mechanically qualified (NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent – HVAC, Plumbing or Mechanical qualifications are all considered)  Strong background in commercial building services maintenancePrevious experience leading engineering teamsMechanically strong with good all-round building services knowledgeExperience working within critical or healthcare-style environments advantageousHands-on engineer willing to work on the tools dailyExcellent communication and organisational skillsHard-working, reliable and client-facingFor more information or to apply, please send your CV to Katie at CBW Staffing Solutions.
