Hardware Engineer Apprentice
Electrical/mechanical design engineering for existing and new control systems for Naval applications
Create, modify, maintain and manage electrical/mechanical designs
Component selection and system implementation
Analyse and justify electrical/mechanical based designs and component selection
Resolve electrical/mechanical issues throughout hardware design, development, manufacture, integration and qualification
Create, modify maintain and manage technical documentation to support contractual deliverables
Produce, maintain and manage calculations to support electrical/mechanical design engineering tasks
Design, develop and support hardware testing activities
Assist with hardware obsolescence management, working closely with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineering to specify, select and deliver suitable alternative hardware
To be aware of and comply with company standards of conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
Training:
Day release, once a week at LSBU's Southwark campus
Training Outcome:
Following successful completion of apprenticeship and meeting internal criteria there may be a promotion to Hardware Engineer
