Engineering Apprentice Toolmaker
Daily/Weekly Tasks:
Produce components using hand fitting techniques Preparing and using lathes for turning operations Co-ordinate with suppliers to supply spare parts for machines Preparing and using milling machines and using Grinding machines Carry out the maintenance of Tooling & building repairs Identifying and liaise with suppliers of maintenance services when required Producing tool and die assemblies Maintain and record work and machine breakdown history Preparing and proving CNC machine tool programs Reading engineering drawings Publish engineering reports that describe a machine’s layout and components Ability to read and manufacture from design drawings givenTraining:
This is a Level 3 Tooling apprenticeship, delivered over a 37 month period.
The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Telford, TF3 3AJ, 2 and a half days per week for the first 14 months.
Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there will be a full-time position available with the company.
