Apprentice Teaching Assistant

Duties include, but not limited to:

Provide support for learning activities across a range of key stages and environments. Support children’s development including physical, emotional, social, communication and intellectual needs. Help to keep children safe, including maintaining a safe environment, dealing with accidents and supporting safeguarding. Encourage children’s positive behaviour. Contribute to positive relationships with children and adults through communication and interaction. Provide effective support for colleagues. Support literacy and numeracy activities. Support the use of information and communication technology for teaching and learning. Use information and communication technology to support pupils’ learning. Observe and report on pupil's performance. Provide displays. Escort and supervise pupils on educational visits and out-of-school activities. Contribute to maintaining pupil records. Contribute to monitoring and maintaining curriculum resources. Invigilate tests and examinations. Support children’s play and learning. Support children and young people’s play. Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Head Teacher to meet the needs of the school.  

Training:
Training will be mainly work based at Kearsley West Primary School, providing hands-on classroom experience. The apprentice will complete off-the-job training for 6 hours per week as part of their apprenticeship programme, supporting the development of knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the role.

Training Outcome:

There may be the opportunity to secure a permanent contract upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday between 8am to 3.30pm.
