Early Years Apprentice
As an Early Years Apprentice, you will contribute to a high quality caring environment for children.
This includes:
Creating warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally Under supervision you will provide all aspects of care for children Assisting with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children Acting as key worker to a small group of children and recording observations and planning for them Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Being aware of the preschool's policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to Completing all work to desired timescales as set by Showcase TutorTraining:
Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard:
NCFE/CACHE Level 3 Standard for the Early Years Educator Functional Skills in English and maths at level 2 minimum (unless exempt) Paediatric First Aid Training completed via work-based visits at the preschool and 4 hours of study time provided for courseworkTraining Outcome:
Upon completing the level 3 qualification, you may be offered the opportunity for a full time role and further training

We are a Nursery located within Baker Barracks Thorney Island.
Thorney Island Nursery opened in January 2004 having previously operated as a crèche since 1987. The nursery is committee run and mainly serves army personnel and the local community.
We provide term time childcare for children aged 9 months to 5 years. Our nursery operates across two dedicated buildings.
The Baby room is designed for children aged 9 months to 2 years 6 months, this space features a self-contained, astro-turfed garden, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for our youngest attendees.
The Pre-school building caters for children aged from 2 years 6 months up to school age. This larger facility includes a spacious main room, a smaller room for focused activities, a snack room and a generous outdoor garden for various activities.
Working Hours :
Shifts to be confirmed. Term time only (38 weeks per year).
