Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice

Apprentices will undertake a wide variety of tasks while supervised by a competent operative in 3 key build stages within the trailer manufacturing process. The 3 stages being: 

Chassis System Assembly & Installation  Coach building  Pre-Delivery Inspection 

Each stage will have an identified Supervisor with several Team Leaders to support the development of all operatives in the build stage.

The tasks will vary depending on the build stage they are working in, but overall, each apprentice will gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of duties which include: 

Axle & Suspension installation  Piping & Wiring including testing  Bulkhead, Panel, Back frame & roof assembly  Bearers, Side Raves, Flooring, Bulkhead, Panel, Back frame & Roof Installation  Paint rectification duties  Identifying defects or missing components  Daily housekeeping duties  Manual handling procedures  Safe use and maintenance of Power, Air & Hand Tools

Training:

Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship standard level 3.



Training Outcome:

Apprentices can expect to grow from complete novices in trailer manufacturing to skilled operatives and even potential team leaders. It all depends on the traits they possess and how they carry themselves on the shop floor, in terms of a positive attitude to learn and develop new skills and a consistent strive to achieve targets while complying with all health and safety processes in place to ensure a safe build for themselves and the operatives around them. But also, a complete shift in confidence within the workplace in terms of handling power/air/hand tools, working in a team environment with different operatives & developing key soft skills which will only excel their personal life too.

Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 3.30pm.
