Maintenance Apprentice

Responsibilities include:

Maintenance Tasks: Perform preventative and routine maintenance on Town Council owned buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas. Gardening and Landscaping: Assist with gardening, grass cutting, and maintaining flower beds. Building Repairs: Help repair and maintain various Town Council owned structures. Litter Collection: Keep parks and open spaces clean by collecting litter. Cleaning and Graffiti Removal: Maintain cleanliness and address graffiti as needed. Additional Duties: Be open to additional responsibilities as the role develops.

Training Outcome:

Career progression will be subject to applying for a suitable vacant role and being successful.

Employer Description:

Taunton Town Council is the local council for the town of Taunton. It works to support the community and improve the local area for residents, businesses, and visitors.  It was formed in April 2023.  The Council looks after a range of services, including parks and open spaces, allotments, community events, and some local facilities. It also helps support community groups, promotes local wellbeing, and works with other organisations to keep Taunton a safe, clean, and welcoming place to live and work.  As a Town Council, it plays an important role in listening to residents and helping make decisions that benefit the local community.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 4.00pm. 3.30pm finish on a Friday.
