Urban Driver Apprentice

This is a full time permanent job giving you the opportunity to learn a skill-set alongside experienced industry professionals where the learning is completed during your employment whilst you are earning a wage.    

Job Details:

You will be working as part of a small team, normally 2 people in one vehicle You will carry out domestic and commercial removals throughout the UK You will be responsible for packing away and delivering furniture You will also drive the LGV vehicle when you have passed the driving test You must be comfortable with heavy lifting You will receive a starting salary of £28,000. It then rises to £32,000 on completion of your LGV test, and in year two of your employment, the wage will increase again. In addition to the basic salary, you will also receive overtime premiums and a performance-related bonus scheme if you achieve the required targets    

Training:

The HGV Driver Apprentice (CAT C) apprenticeship will take 13 months to complete, during which you will be a Porter, effectively shadowing an experienced driver on a regular basis and developing an in-depth understanding of the position and what it entails.

In addition, you will also complete LGV driving lessons, which will enable you to drive heavy goods vehicles on completion of your test.

Working Hours :
You will start between 8am & 5pm and the working week is normally Monday to Friday, but you will be required to work some Saturdays (with overtime if this is your 6th day). You will be working approximately 9 hours per day.
