Early Years Educator Apprentice

Qualities:

To work across a day nursery environment working with children from 0-5 years:

Approachable with excellent interpersonal & communicational skills Good time management Ability to remain calm, positive, and enthusiastic when working under pressure Passionate about children’s learning Work in partnership with our parents, professionals and work as part of our team to achieve the very best for our children

Key Skills and Attributes:

To work towards an early year’s qualification To be able to complete a portfolio of work in an agreed timescale by a workplace assessor To attend work-based training such as staff meetings and other relevant training to the role

Training:
You will work in Aldersyde nursery for 25 hours working across all ages from 0-5 years and 5 hours a week will be spent in college in a classroom with dedicated Early Years tutor who will support with the written/theory part of the qualification At the end of the training the applicant will receive an Early Years Level 3 qualification Training will include paediatric first aid qualification The applicant will be supported during their training with a work-based mentor

Training Outcome:
Successful trainees will complete an early year’s educator L3 qualification which allows them to work in early years Progression can include room leader, Sendco roles, deputy manager or manager roles of early years settings

Working Hours :
30 hours per week 25 hours in nursery - hands on job 5 hours college (one afternoon a week) Nursery is open 8 am - 5.30 pm Monday to Friday
