Engineering Apprentice

As the Engineering Apprentice, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, ensuring that machinery operates according to specifications, monitoring machine tools and equipment, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Duties will also include:

Interpret technical drawings Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise machine performance Adherence to safety protocols and procedures is paramount in this role

Training:

You will attend Kingston College for your off-the-job training, where you will complete a Level 3 qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. During your apprenticeship as an Engineering Fitter you will develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to support the fitting, assembly, testing, and maintenance of engineering components.

Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions. Use hand tools, measuring equipment, and assembly techniques. Carry out fitting, installation, and basic maintenance tasks. Identify and help solve faults on components and assemblies. Work safely and to quality standards at all times.

Training Outcome:

A number of our Engineering Apprentices go on to complete the HNC and HND we offer at Kingston College. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will be able to register with either EngTech for Engineering Technician or IMechE for Engineering Technician.

Working Hours :
Working pattern is Monday -Thursday 7am - 4pm, Friday 7am - 1pm. You will attend Kingston College one day per week, during the college term.
