Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprentice
It will be a varied role from tool making and traditional machine up to working and programming CNC lathe and using metrology equipment.
Then the candidate will look after the plan when working in maintenance doing preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance (Electric, Mechanical etc).
Apply condition monitoring techniques or use condition monitoring results (for example oil, vibration, thermal, NDT) to determine equipment condition.
Use a range of test and measuring equipment (including both electrical and physical measures) and appropriate calculations required to carry out the task and to aid in fault diagnosis.
Then the candidate will learn how to set, tweak the machine to produce the components and assemble 0.22 or blank cartridges.
Training:
You will attend Solihull College & University Centre (Woodlands Campus) once a week during term time. At the same time, you will also be supported in your workplace by an Engineering Coach/Assessor to pick up the work-based evidence and prepare you for the End Point Assessments with EAL.
Training Outcome:
It will depend on the need at Eley and the preference of the candidate. It could be a tool maker, a machine setter or a maintenance technician.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 4.00pm. For example, 4 days a week at Eley or UTM, 07:30 to 16:00 and one day at college, 09:00 to 16:30.
