Electrical Installation Apprenticeship
Tests electrical and equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
Installs repairs, or replaces electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic, and line assemblies, lighting, and alternative electrical parts
Installs, repairs, or replaces generators and industrial storage batteries
Do preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems (including power distribution equipment), Installs electrical circuits, as well as panels, conduit, protecting devices, switches, and equipment required to accommodate the CEC and/or NEC
Works on electrical failures and replaces components wherever production time is often affected
Corrects connections and wiring on equipment controls wherever incorrect applications may cause harm and dangerous conditions
Conducts preventive and maintenance programs, and also keeps maintenance records
May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial equipment and connected devices
Complies with standards and procedures of industry, Safety Manual, and abide by safety rules
Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or training provider, which in this case is Birmingham Electrical Training
At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying
The off the job training will take place at Birmingham Electrical Training, 34 Brearley Street, Hockley, B19 3NR
Training Outcome:
It is expected that you'd become a fully qualified electrician with all required qualifications gained and to have a successful career in the industry
Wages will increase yearly, upon completion of various stages of the apprenticeship
Once qualified, you could go on to supervisory roles, senior management positions, or have the possibility of one day being self employed
Employer Description:
The employer have a wealth of experience in all aspects of electrical installation throughout the UK, primarily in the commercial and industrial sectors.
They've worked for all kinds of clients of all shapes and sizes from big commercial business to government organisations.
Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, shift times and working hours may vary. You will be required to work away from home during this apprenticeship.
