Apprentice Maintenance Engineer
The aim of the apprenticeship program with Manthorpe Engineering is to train people to become skilled Maintenance Engineers who can then build a successful career within the company. To achieve this the apprentice will be paired with an experienced Maintenance Engineer who will ensure their skills and knowledge are developed alongside their college based training.
This process will involve on the job training and will include:
Shadowing and working alongside a member of the Maintenance Team to learn processes such as:
Fault Finding in a mechanical and/or electrical system CNC machine maintenance Fabrication equipment maintenance Preventative Maintenance Routines Facilities maintenance External supplier liaisonTraining:
This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering Campus. This attendance is required during term time only You will work with expert assessors and tutors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession You will experience a blended learning model
Training Outcome:
On completion of the apprenticeship, it is expected that the qualified apprentice will be a competent maintenance engineer, capable of supporting and maintaining a wide range of manufacturing equipment Suitable candidates will be offered the opportunity to progress into full‑time employment, with a graded pay structure in place to reward further development, skills and experience The business also has a track record of apprentices progressing into roles beyond maintenance (i.e. manufacturing)

Our facility includes a broad range of CNC machining, from smaller precision work through to large, complex components, alongside fabrication and welding carried out in‑house.
Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 07:30 - 16:30 and Friday, 08:00 - 12:30
