Apprentice Teaching Assistant - Nerrols Primary School

Under the direction of the class teacher & SENDCo:

Supporting children's learning in the classroom by working one-on-one or with small groups Ensuring that the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including social communication needs and social and emotional needs, are met Supporting specific children in both academic and social areas, following an agreed strategy Supporting all children’s social and emotional development and ensuring their safety at all times Provide a warm, welcoming, enriching enrivonment to support children's learning and play Attending weekly Learning Support Assistant (LSA) meetings during school hours Commitment to an inclusive provision and ensuring every child reaches their potential Promoting and complying with the school’s policies and procedures Undertaking training as required

Supporting at lunch and break time with duties to include:

Assisting in the lunch hall with pupils' mealtimes and lunch hall orderliness Supervising the playground and promoting safe and structured play Reporting to designated first aider in the event of injuries

Training:

As well as on the job training you will attend Richard Huish College for one day per fortnight and work towards the following:

Teaching Assistant Level 3 Standard qualification  Functional Skills in maths, ICT and English (if applicable)

Training Outcome:

Depending on staffing needs and apprentice performance, we would hope to offer a Learning Support Assistant role with the school upon successful completion of the qualification.
