Apprentice Mechanic

Assist with inspection, monitoring and maintenance of plant, vehicles and equipment Support planned servicing and preventative maintenance Carry out reactive repairs in the workshop and on-site across the operational area Work on tractors, agricultural machinery and specialist equipment Help manage tools, parts and equipment inventory Follow health, safety and environmental standards at all times Support wider engineering activities and gain exposure to other service areas

Training:
The apprentice will spend 4 days per week in the workplace gaining practical experience, alongside 1 day per week at college (day release) to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the role

Training Outcome:

On successful completion of the Level 2 Land-Based Service Engineering Apprenticeship, you may progress onto a Level 3 qualification within the organisation. With experience, you could move into a fully qualified Mechanical/Service Engineer role, taking on greater responsibility for maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.

Longer term, there are opportunities to specialise or progress into areas such as senior engineering roles, asset management, project support, or wider operational roles within the Drainage Boards.
