Plumbing Apprenticeship
Learn to carry out a range of plumbing works in occupied and empty properties to current legislative standards, to prevailing performance standards and in accordance with the Trust’s procedures
Learn to carry out inspections of occupied and empty properties to determine the extent of the repair, maintenance or installation required. Having identified the works required, carry out the most cost effective and expedient works
Learn to carry out tasks such as but not restricted to, minor carpentry, tiling, and redecoration repairs linked to maintenance
Learn to carry out administrative work, using the handheld IT device to accurately record whilst on-site all processes from receiving jobs through to completion, using the appropriate schedule of rate code(s) and detailed records of materials used and work competed
Keep a log of all work carried out
To liaise via telephone calls/messages/e-mails on urgent works
Learn how to record materials used and maintain sufficient van stock to ensure that targets are met. Keep a record of van stock and purchase additional stock from approved wholesalers
To attend college on a day release basis and complete all written college assignments and coursework required for the apprenticeship course to a high standard
Liaise and work constructively with all other trades, staff, contractors and customers
Drive and operate the works vehicle (if qualified) in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the vehicle is in a safe and roadworthy condition at all times and that the correct fluid levels, tyre pressures are correctly maintained. Keep the vehicle clean and tidy. Maintain a record of fuel and mileage usage
To maintain in good working order and ensure the safe keeping of plant issued
To be able to work effectively and efficiently as an individual or as part of a team on all aspects of building maintenance work from minor repairs to larger one-off projects
Training:
Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Level 3.
You will primarily work within Surrey and Sussex, with the requirement for weekly day release to attend college.
Training Outcome:
Progression could lead into a Plumbing Improver role, and then onto a Multi-Skilled Plumber.

Monday - Friday, 37 hours, 8am - 4:30pm
