Facilities Operative Apprentice
Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the Youth Zone’s building, equipment, and facilities.
Assist with weekly / monthly maintenance of outdoor areas, including 3G and MUGA pitches, grounds maintenance upkeep and general repairs.
Carry out routine inspections of the building, identifying maintenance issues and reporting them to the Building & Facilities Manager.
Support the Building & Facilities Manager in ensuring that health and safety policies are implemented and adhered to.
Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and emergency repairs.
Conduct basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks under supervision.
Ensure that all areas of the Youth Zone are clean, safe, and fit for use by young people, staff, and visitors.
Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC).
Assist with managing contractors and suppliers when external work is required.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner to minimise disruption to activities.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Training:
The Level 2 Facilities Operative Apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace, you'll complete 6 hours off-the-job per week. You will attend sessions with a tutor from Hopwood Hall College every 6 weeks. These will be delivered in the workplace.
Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, it may lead to a permanent position.
