Apprentice Engineer
Upkeep of existing equipment and reacting to breakdowns (Motor gearboxes, bearings, shafts, conveyors, oven, mixers, electrical panels, control circuits, power circuits
Improvement work and install work (mechanical and electrical)
Using hand tools, plc software, Power tools, electrical testing equipment. Pillar drill and hydraulic press
Attending breakdowns; replacing bearings, shafts, chains, pullies, sprockets, conveyor belting, motors, gearboxes, electrical components, sensors, pneumatics, installing new equipment
Looking at instrumentation like load cells, thermocouples etc
Training:
Training to include weekly day release to Sheffield College's Advanced Technology Centre at Olive Grove Rd Sheffield
Training Outcome:
A shift Engineering position with option to move on to an HNC
