3D Model/Detailing Technician Apprentice

Assisting the design team with:

Production of 3D structural models using the latest Trimble/Tekla Structures software. To provide accurate, detailed models/drawings for manufacturing and erecting steel structures Material scheduling Projects from design stage through to construction Work in close partnership with Architects/ Structural Engineers and contractors Using 3D and 2D CAD software Production of .IFC model conversions for use within BIM collaboration

Training:

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX):

Level 3 comprises of:

Duration approximately 40-45 months.

Years 1/2 is a combination of off the job training at HWGTA Training Centre as well as training on site with your employer. This includes 26-42 weeks within the training Centre plus 1 day per week in a classroom setting to cover practical and theory aspects and complete EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge

Years 3/4 based full time in company developing skills in preparation for the end point assessment to gain your Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician qualification. 

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment.

Additional training for functional skills in English and maths will be undertaken if needed.



Training Outcome:

Potential to progress further in the role subject to successful completion of the apprenticeship.



Employer Description:

At IBPS Draughting Ltd we are an established sub-contract office where our proffessional, experienced detailers provide structural steelwork models/ General Arrangement drawings and fabrication/erection information. We have experience of dealing with a wide variety of structures within the construction industry including Schools, Hospitals, Stadia, Industrial units, power stations, retail units as well as student accommodation blocks. We work closely with Structural Engineers/Architects and Fabricators to ensure we provide a service that is focused on each individual project.



Working Hours :
Mon to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm with 30 min lunch break. Friday 8:30 am to 4 pm with 30 min lunch break.
