Junior Estimator Apprenticeship

Assist with preparing electrical estimates, quotations, and tender submissions Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings Use AutoCAD to review drawings and identify key project details Support the preparation of bills of quantities and pricing schedules Request and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams Assist in identifying project scope, risks, and exclusions Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation Support the handover of successful projects to delivery teams Assist in compiling O&M manuals for completed projects Gather documentation such as datasheets, certificates, warranties, and as-built drawings Help ensure manuals are complete and meet client and project requirements Carry out general administrative duties related to estimating and pre-construction

Training:
Phase 1: Induction & Foundations (Months 0–3)
Objective: Build basic understanding of the company, construction industry, and core skills Phase 2: Core Estimating Skills (Months 3–9)
Objective: Develop fundamental estimating and technical skills Phase 3: Developing Commercial Awareness (Months 9–15)
Objective: Build confidence in pricing and tender processes Phase 4: Project Handover & O&M Manuals (Months 12–18)
Objective: Understand project completion and documentation processes Phase 5: Consolidation & End Point Assessment (Months 18–24)
Objective: Prepare for independent working and final assessment

Training Outcome:
0-2 years: Junior Estimator 2-5 years: Electrical Estimator 5-10 years: Senior Estimator
