Manufacturing and Engineering Apprentice

Duties will include:

As an apprentice with Axis Electronics you will be given the opportunity to move around the company, working in various areas of the business staying with each department for six months at a time under the supervision of experienced colleagues, combining on-the-job training with structured learning You will be sorting and inspecting components before they are used in assembly, checking for defects or missing parts to ensure everything is ready for production Assemble mechanical parts and systems using tools and equipment, following technical drawings and instructions to ensure accuracy You will be working with Surface Mount Technology (SMT), loading and operating machines that place tiny electronic components onto circuit boards, ensuring components are placed correctly for the next step in assembly

Operating Flow Solder Machines:

As well as soldering by hand to repair or adjust components that may need more precise soldering Supporting Production Engineering to help improve manufacturing processes to make them faster, cheaper, and more reliable Troubleshoot any issues during production and suggest improvements To perform electrical and functional tests on finished products to make sure they work as expected Record test results and report any issues to the team for further action Track and organise materials and parts needed for production, ensuring the right items are available at the right time to keep production flowing smoothly Assisting with Goods in and Goods out, receiving raw materials (Goods In) and check them for quality before storing them. As well as packing and sending out finished products (Goods Out), making sure they are correctly labelled and meet all standards

College attendance will begin in September 2026.



Training:
EAL Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and Manufacturing support Technologies (Development Technical Knowledge)

Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you may have the opportunity to progress into roles such as Test Engineer, Production Engineer, Team Leader, or Production Technician This is a chance to complete your Level 3 qualification and potentially advance to further education, such as a HNC or HND, for continued professional development and career growth

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday, 7.30am -- 12.30pm
