Nursery Assistant Apprentice
Main Duties
To effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members). To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journal and share these with parents, carers, and other key adults in the child’s life. Support all staff and engage positively as part of a staff team. To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day‑to‑day caring and early learning needs. To ensure the provision of a high‑quality environment to meet the needs of individual children, with an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures, and medical histories. To advise the manager/deputy of any concerns, for example regarding children, parents, or the safety of the environment, while preserving confidentiality as required. To be involved in out‑of‑hours activities, for example training, monthly staff meetings, summer fair, etc. To be flexible within the working practices of the setting, undertaking other reasonable duties where required, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, and cleaning of equipment. To work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the setting’s philosophies are fulfilled. To read, understand, and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the setting. To develop your role within the team, particularly in relation to being a key person. To maintain complete confidentiality regarding any information about children, their families, or other staff obtained as part of your role. To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times, both during and outside of working hours. To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are maintained at all times. To carry out any ad hoc duties around the nursery as required.
Essential Requirement
Applicants must hold GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications), including English and Mathematics.

Training:
This apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with regular training through a college or approved training provider. At least 20% of your working hours will be dedicated to study and professional development. It is a higher-level programme designed for those aiming to progress into senior roles within early childhood education.
Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the course, the apprentice will be offered a permanent position.

Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday, 7:45am to 6:00pm (1hr lunch break unpaid).
