Engineering Apprentice

You will be learning all areas of the business, some administration work, reading and understanding drawings, manufacturing of component parts (both manual machines and CNC lathes/mills), picking and inspecting parts, building and testing products. Engineering is generally a physical job, with long hours standing and sometimes lifting heavy/awkward objects. Good attention and the ability to follow all instructions are essential.



Training:

Training will be 1 day a week at college and on-the-job training whilst at work.



Training Outcome:

Progression to full-time employment. Progression to a higher-level apprenticeship/further training.

BIS Valves is a local manufacturing company that already has established apprentices and looks to recruit every year with a view to retaining the apprentices’ skills once the course is complete.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday 8am to 4.30pm (lunch 1-1.30pm), Friday 8am to 1pm (college hours may vary).
