Apprentice Welder / Fabricator

You’ll combine hands‑on experience in our workshop with dedicated college training, developing real skills from day one. You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team where you can be yourself, push your potential, and take pride in the work you do.

What will you be doing?

You’ll spend one day a week at college and four days in our workshop, learning how to fabricate and weld to industry standards.

Your training will include:

Working safely at all times and following all relevant health, safety, environmental and ISO requirements. Preparing and planning fabrication activities using detailed engineering drawings, working with carbon steel, stainless steel and high‑nickel alloys. Setting up, checking and maintaining fabrication and welding equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. Interpreting technical drawings, patterns and templates to produce and assemble complex fabricated components. Operating cutting, drilling and shaping equipment, and welding using TIG and MIG processes to meet strict quality specifications. Restoring your work area to a safe condition and completing all required documentation throughout each job. 

Training:

Training will take place on the job at our site in Stamford, and one day a week at Leicester College.

Training Outcome:
Become a Class A welder (coded). Leadership.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4pm. Friday: 7:30am - 1pm. College: 8:30am - 5pm.
