Apprentice Engineering Maintenance Technician
PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO direct contact with Asbestos within this role.
Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, and DCU repairs on asbestos removal equipment (e.g. negative air units, HEPA vacuums, and containment systems) Perform full decontamination of equipment using specialist chambers in line with strict protocols Conduct DOP testing on HEPA filtration systems and PAT testing on electrical equipment Carry out face-fit testing and servicing of respiratory masks, including site visits Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and technical faults in the workshop and on-site Inspect, test, and validate equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations (HSE, COSHH, and asbestos requirements) Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports Provide technical support and ensure equipment is returned fully tested, compliant, and decontaminated You will work within the workshop and on customers site premisesTraining:
The successful applicant will work towards a Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician qualification, which will take 48 months (plus End Point Assessment) and will be delivered by Leeds City College
