Apprentice for furniture making and bench joinery
The role will be based in the workshop and may be on-site if required.
The duty of the role is to learn the skills required to complete your course, help others in the workshop or on-site and be trained sufficiently enough to be offered a full-time position at our company when you finish college, if you wish.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work in the workshop, but sometimes on-site. Help others when required. Ensure that tools are safe and working, and report any that are not. Ensure that all tools are looked after. Ensure sites are safe, respected (cleaned, dust sheets, protected) and the joinery work is protected. Put away deliveries Keep the stock room tidy and know where things go Restock items that come back from the site Notify the manager if the stock is low/running out. Load/unload the vans Move or lift materials using good handling practice Be aware of health and safety regulations and the use of PPE Maintain a clear and safe work siteTraining:
You will be provided with plenty of support and there will be a buddy scheme in place.
Training Outcome:
Potential to continue working with us once the apprenticeship is complete, either as a bench joiner or fitter. We have had 2 apprentices in the past, both of whom became full-time employees once they had finished college. One is still with us 11 years later!

Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00.
