Early Years Level 2 Apprenticeship - Little People Nurseries (Alwoodley)
As an apprentice you will be a key member of the nursery team, your duties may include:
Under supervision, keep records of children’s development and learning journeys Liaise professionally with and support parents and other family members Be able to work well in a team Attend out-of-working-hours activities, e.g., training, monthly staff meetings, parents' evenings, fundraising events, etc. To ensure high standards in all aspects of care and development in line with the EYFS for all children attending the nursery To organise resources for activities and experiences in the nursery To assist in enhancing the developmental progress in children To implement the daily routine within the nursery To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and good housekeeping To maintain a thorough knowledge of all the nursery’s policies and procedures, ensuring that they are followed and respectedFull description will be given at the interview.
Training:
Apprenticeship qualifications are delivered in the workplace. You will be allocated a vocational coach who will provide you with personal tutorial support and assessment through a blend of online Teams meetings and face-to-face visits to complete observations in the workplace.
Assessment is through a variety of methods, including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence, professional discussions, assignments and project/case studies. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio of evidence. You will have access to all your resources and tasks online on The Learning Hub.

Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)Training Outcome:
Once the successful candidate has completed their childcare qualification at level 2, there will be the opportunity to progress onto the Early Years Educator at Level 3.

Based on the site of Alwoodley Primary School in a former school annex that many years ago provided classrooms, our warm and welcoming Nursery has been converted to offer a homely and educational environment for children from birth to 5 years, our Funclub continues with care until age 11. Little People Alwoodley is passionate about providing quality Early Years Education and the highest standards in care and safety. An exciting opportunity has arisen for Early Years Apprentices who love caring for children and wish to develop a career in early years’ childcare and are committed to working with a great team of staff.
Working Hours :
Total of 40-hours a week falling between 7.30am and 6.00pm, Monday - Friday. May involve some occasional weekend work. 16-18-year-olds will not be required to work over 8 hours per day.
