Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice
As an apprentice, you will receive on-the-job training with experienced engineers, support from both employer and college, and work toward a recognised engineering qualification with opportunities for further development to HNC. You’ll have the opportunity for permanent employment upon successful completion and become part our engineering team. You’ll develop skills that are in-demand across the UK manufacturing sector and gain experience working on real projects that make a difference, giving you a head start in a rewarding engineering career.
During your apprenticeship, you will develop skills in:
New product introduction Machining and manufacturing processes Engineering drawings and technical interpretation Preventative maintenance and fault finding Lean manufacturing principles Quality techniques Health & safety standards in an industrial environment Continuous improvement and problem-solving methodsThe successful candidate will look to work in all areas of the Widney engineering department including:
Manufacturing Engineering Design Toolroom Quality Product Development and Testing.During the time spent in each department the apprentice will be part of the team dealing with day-to-day issues and working on longer term projects.
In addition, the successful candidate will work in all manufacturing areas to gain experience and knowledge of
Product knowledge of Windows, Slides and Blinds product groups Glass bonding CNC & Machining Robotic welding Fabrication & Welding Assembly processes Paint and pre-treatment processTraining Outcome:
Potential to progress into a full-time position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

Monday to Thursday 7:30am- 4:00pm Friday 7:30am- 12:30pm
