Shift Production Manager

Applicants are invited from a wide range of manufacturing backgrounds but must have experience of managing production within a made to order, fast paced and high-volume manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities of Shift Production Manager;

The leadership of manufacturing / production operations, covering both automated and labour intensive processes, whilst seeking to automate processes where possible The development and promotion of lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5s, 6 sigma, VSM, SMED, TPM, OEE etc, across manufacturing operations To support with the move to a new state of the art manufacturing environment in the local vicinity and overseeing a team of circa 30 operatives To identify opportunities to further automate manufacturing processes To develop multi-functional / flexible manufacturing teams across operations


Qualifications and Experience for a Shift Production Manager;

Previous experience within a senior production/ manufacturing leadership position, e.g. Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, Shift Operations Manager, Shift Production Manager, Production Lead, etc Leadership and people management skills and the ability to build, motivate, develop and improve teams. Resilient & energetic with good influencing & communication skills – credible at all levels from shop floor to Exec The ability to lead production activities, KPI metrics, analysing results to recommend & implement required improvements in performance Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing / engineering environment, practically implementing continuous improvement tools and techniques - Lean and Six Sigma. The position reports to the Site Operations Manager and provides a high level of influence and autonomy within the business, along with opportunities for both personal and career development.
