Your Role

As Yard Supervisor, you'll take a leading role in ensuring the efficient, safe and smooth operation of our yard. You'll motivate and guide the team, support day-to-day operations, and maintain a well-organised, professional environment that keeps customers coming back.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily yard activities including team coordination, customer service, and stock managementEnsure all health & safety practices are followed, creating a safe environment for staff and visitorsCarry out staff performance reviews and support development through training and mentoringApprove team leave requests and manage cover in line with business needsWelcome and assist customers, offering product knowledge and ensuring efficient order fulfilmentSupport unloading, checking and storing deliveriesAssist with regular stock spot-checks and accurate reportingUphold cleanliness and orderliness across yard and storage areasReport incidents and accidents promptly, following company proceduresMaintain compliance with all company policies and standards

What You'll Bring:

Strong communication, organisational, and team leadership skillsPrevious supervisory experience, ideally in a yard or trade environmentSound knowledge of health & safety procedures and safe working practicesConfidence working outdoors in all weathers and performing manual handling tasksForklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance) - desirableExperience in a builders' merchant or knowledge of building materials - essentialA positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support wherever needed

Job Details:

Work Pattern: 7.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday, plus alternate Saturdays 7.30am - 12.30pm

Salary & Benefits:
