This apprenticeship gives you the chance to work towards this aim while gaining a recognised qualification. You’ll learn on the job, supported by the Project Manager, Skills Development Coordinator, Young Solutions, and by Creative Alliance, who deliver the training.
Cultural Learning & Participation Officers bring creative opportunities to life by planning, organising, and coordinating arts and cultural activities within communities. They help open doors for people of all backgrounds to experience and express themselves through the arts.
In this role, you’ll be part of a project that uses storytelling, arts, and culture to connect communities and celebrate local stories. Your work will help people feel seen, heard, and valued.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Cultural Learning & Participation Officer Apprentice, you’ll support the planning, delivery, and communication of creative and community‑focused activities. Your tasks may include:
Supporting Creative Workshops
Helping set up and run storytelling, arts, and participation sessions Welcoming participants and making them feel comfortable Assisting artists, facilitators, and project leadsCommunity Engagement
Talking with participants and gathering their stories Helping build relationships with local groups, schools, and partners Supporting outreach activitiesProject Support
Helping organise events, exhibitions, or showcases Keeping track of project materials and resources Supporting the team with planning and admin tasksCreative Communication
Helping create social media posts, newsletters, or updates Sharing stories from the project (with guidance) Supporting documentation such as photos, notes, or participant feedbackYou don’t need to be an expert, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

They’re also highly transferable, creating opportunities in a wide range of sectors beyond the creative industries.
Training:
You will be completing a Cultural and Learning Participation Officer apprenticeship Level 3.
This is delivered through a programme of seminars and a one to one sessions with your development coach.
