In the Learning Support Assistant role, you will be:
Working with tutors to prepare learning materials, tasks, and record learner progress
Reinforcing tutor instructions and providing constructive feedback to help learners meet their targets
Assisting with mobility around the campus, including guiding learners, and supporting transfers using appropriate equipment such as wheelchairs, hoists and mobility aids
Supporting personal care needs as a second person, including feeding, toileting, full changes and transfers, working in accordance with safeguarding and manual handling procedures
Attending relevant meetings with tutors and support teams and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environmentCarrying out any other reasonable duties in line with the role and organisational policies
To be successful, you will need:
An empathetic approach and an understanding of the challenges faced by young people with additional learning needs
Good communication and IT skills
A current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
Ability to travel as requiredEWC registration, an Enhanced DBS, and proof of right to work in the UK are required
This is a temporary position for a period up to the end of the academic year (May 2026) with a review. You'll be working part time, 18 hours per week (approx. 3 days). You'll be starting on an hourly pay rate of £13.45, plus weekly pay, holiday accrual and other benefits and based in the Rhos on Sea area.
Please note, this role is subject to an enhanced DBS certificate being completed.
