Produce accurate, timely and appropriate monthly financial and performance management information for the Income/Contracts department, eg Management Accounts, Best Practice Tariff reports etc within the timescales determined by the Trust.
This will involve the collection, collation and processing of complex data from a variety of sources.
Ensure that reports produced are of the highest quality by actively contributing to the quality assurance process and producing key validations and reconciliations.
Calculate accruals, prepayments and adjustments to be reflected in the monthly management accounts, ensuring that clear audit trails and working papers are maintained to demonstrate compliance with Trust financial procedures and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Assume specific responsibility for the financial management of the Trust’s healthcare contract with the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine including but not limited to; proactively identifying and solving problems related to the contract, responsibility for developing systems for new contract elements, identifying risk and ensuring maximum income received from the contract.
Production of the monthly activity and finance performance information (Contract Monitoring) to ensure produced to the highest quality by actively contributing to the quality assurance process and producing key validations and reconciliations.
Production of income elements of the Statutory Annual Accounts, ensuring clear audit trails and working papers are maintained to demonstrate compliance with Trust Financial Procedures and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Liaison with the internal and external auditors to address queries raised and issues identified.
Production of the Trust’s Contract Monitoring in line with tight reporting deadlines and adhering to strict national timescales.
This will involve the collection, collation and processing of complex data from a variety of sources to allow input to the Trust’s Income Reporting System (SLAM).
Communicate that monthly activity and finance performance to all Commissioners for which the Trust holds Healthcare contracts (incl CCGs and NHS England) for the Trust’s patient activities and that any issues raised are dealt with in an appropriate, timely fashion.
Keeping accurate records in relation to all contracts and ensuring appropriate billing arrangements.
Undertaking reconciliations to ensure that contract values and income budgets are held correctly within the Trust’s finance systems.
